JCBEA was the featured non-profit at the Food Truck Friday event last Friday, August 24th, held at the Lamar Street Center in Arvada. What a great time we had! If you have never been to the Lamar Street Center, it is incredible. They have vintage cars and motorcycles throughout the event center, with more in their car museum. We were blessed to also have a host of classic cars appear at the event for everyone to ogle in the parking lot. They then lined up for a classic car parade through Olde Town Arvada.
Aside from the great music from The Duke Street Kings and the luscious food from the food trucks, we met some incredible people and shared the JCBEA mission – to give high school students the essential skills to be workforce ready. The attendees were generous in their donations and were highly complementary of the work we are doing for the students in Jefferson County. Many of them left with plants, jewelry, scarves and other items that were available for purchase at the event. And I want to extend a special thank you for those who want to become facilitators for us in some of our upcoming training programs.
Don’t worry if you were not able to join us last Friday, we are doing this again in a few weeks! Come join us at the Lamar Street Station – 5889 Lamar Street – on Friday, September 14th from 5pm to 9pm. There is no cover charge and all donations benefit JCBEA. Come dance to some live music by The Duke Street Kings, eat some food, shop a little, enjoy the cars, and just have a fun, interesting night out. Do you have a classic car or motorcycle you would like to show off? Then bring it on September 14th! We hope to see you there!
